Q: How do I set up IPCop using a Pulsar ADSL card for PPPoA?
A:
PPPoA is an ADSL protocol that is primarily used in Europe.
Setup is pretty straight-forward:
-
Download the latest IPCop Pulsar driver from our Downloads page
-
Upload it onto your IPCop 0.1.2 system using the driver upload facility (in the IPCop Dialup screen).
-
Run setup from the console, or via shh
-
Configure PCI ADSL as follows...
Protocol = RFC2364 (PPPoA)
VPI = 0 VCI = 38 (for BT ADSL)
VPI = 8 VCI = 35 (for Telstra)
Encapsulation = VC
Enable = ON
- Network Configuration
Type = GREEN (RED is modem/ISDN)
or
Type = GREEN + ORANGE (RED is modem/ISDN)
- Now back to the GUI :
Create a new profile in Dialup as follows...
Interface = PPPoA
Max Retries = 0 (Always Retry)
Idle Timeout = 0 (Disable)
Username = yourusername@bt
Username = yourusername@direct.telstra.net
(for Telstra Direct)
Password = yourpassword
- Now go back to the home page and "Connect"
